Bringing history to the table!

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of America. What better way to celebrate than cooking up some history?

The Minishoshe-Mandan chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have graced our kitchen with that very opportunity.

The America 250 Commission is tasked with creating events, programs, and learning opportunities for the historic anniversary of the nation. This program is supported by the commission and is created by the Daughters of the American Revolution, who are leading the charge in the celebration!

Connie Sprynczynatyk and Beth Stroup-Menge led the charge and are your hosts and cooking teachers. They have tested the recipes in their own kitchens and will give valuable insight to make the dishes both historically accurate and delicious!

They are occasionally joined by other members of the Minishoshe-Mandan DAR chapter to share lessons of etiquette, which are taken from the White House cookbook that planted the seed for the entire idea.

And it is not just cooking! Presidential Historian, Rick Collin joins our hosts and gives you the best information and stories about the lives of the featured Presidents.

Did you know that John Adams was given the nickname “His Rotundity” by the press?

Rick did, and he shares that and more with the audience in this first episode!

So follow along with the episode to learn and share a plate with a President. We have even provided a menu for the episode, complete with bonus history facts and the recipes from the episode.
