Here at Dakota Media Access, it is no secret that we love the musical talent that North Dakota has to offer. We have played local artists on your radio for years, but we wanted to invite them into your living room (our studio). So we started Front Avenue Sound Sessions, a short program intended to showcase stripped back, homegrown North Dakota talent. 

Starting the show, we drew a lot of inspiration from similar programs. Tiny Desk Concert from NPR is the biggest example, but we wanted to give it our own North Dakota touch. Our studio transformed into mini-home studio that is meant to invoke a second half of your living room. More than just the music, we encouraged our guests to speak about what it is like to be playing music in the area and some of the inspirations behind the songs. 

Our first guest, Ben Suchy brought in his own one-man-band rig to fill our space with sound. He shares the stories and ideas behind four songs that are rooted to the Midwest and his experience as a musician.
