North Dakota celebrated 125 years of statehood on Nov. 2, 2014. Special events took place throughout the day to honor our heritage and tell the story of North Dakota throughout the year 2014. The commemoration of the state’s official birthday coincided with the grand opening of the new North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck.
The Film Treasures of North Dakota features productions from the film and video archives at the State Historical Society of North Dakota. The collections serve to help document and interpret the history of North Dakota and the Northern Great Plains. These programs are productions that have been edited by the State Historical Society for use on Dakota Media Access.
The Spotlight North Dakota public programs have been offered through the Sensational Sunday Series, at the North Dakota Heritage Center, featuring music, storytelling, historic preservation programs, and the North Dakota Humanities Council’s Larry Remele Memorial Fellowship lecture series.
